A child from Elazığ, a dream for Istanbul.
Ersan Gülmez grew up in the narrow streets of Elazığ. He had no capital in his pocket, but he always had one thing in mind: building a business that bore his name.
His first step was silver. A small shop, Doa Gümüş. It would open at five in the morning and close past midnight. Every customer was given the same promise: “Take it, show it around. If you don't like it, give me my money back.” That promise still holds today.
“Can you sell this?”
The transition from silver to watches was no coincidence. A customer pointed to the Rolex on his wrist and said, “Can you sell this?” He sold it. Then another one. Then another.
“You can't sell watches by shouting like a street vendor,” they said. Ersan broke the mold. He stated the price openly, stood behind the product, provided the certificate. He stood by his clients. The luxury industry wasn't used to this — but the customers were.
A shop on Abdi İpekçi Street. Its name: Ersan Diamond.
Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Hermès, diamonds. The shop grew, the collection expanded and a community of more than a million followers formed around it.
But one thing never changed: the promise made to the customer.
The hands that once chased horses now hold Hermès.
