The Yacht-Master's bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel is entirely crafted from precious metal (Everose gold or platinum) or fitted with a Cerachrom insert in high-technology ceramic, depending on the model. The raised polished numerals and graduations stand out clearly against the matt, sandblasted background. This functional bezel, which allows the user to calculate sailing time between two buoys for example, is also a key component of the model's distinctive visual identity. Like all Rolex Professional watches, the Yacht-Master 40 offers exceptional legibility in all conditions, and especially in the dark, thanks to its Chromalight display. The broad hands and indices in simple shapes (triangle, circle, rectangle) are filled with a luminescent material that emits a long-lasting glow. While many Rolex watches are available in Rolesor — the now-legendary combination of yellow, white, or Everose gold and steel — Rolesium is a creation exclusive to the Yacht-Master. While the case and bracelet are crafted from robust Oystersteel, the bezel of Rolesium versions is made from platinum, providing a silvery whiteness and vivid lustre for an unmistakable sense of luxury. The Oyster bracelet is a perfect alchemy of form and function, aesthetics and technology, designed to be both robust and comfortable. It is equipped with an Oysterlock folding clasp that prevents accidental opening, and the Easylink comfort extension link, also exclusive to Rolex. This ingenious system allows the user to increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm, providing additional comfort in any situation.
